24th Annual KW Citywide Food Drive Provides Meals for Central Texas Families

The annual Keller Williams Citywide food drive has once again proven itself a success in reaching out to the people of Central Texas. So far this year's event has produced over 11,000 meals for Central Texas families in need, and we are still counting! With combined efforts of both traditional and virtual efforts, KW agents and staff dedicated their time to make this annual event a wonderful success.

The food drive is an effort of Keller Williams Austin with a goal to extend its culture of giving in the communities that it serves. Our very own Cain Team participated in the event, collecting canned food donations through the South Austin community. Our team is always humbled to be a part of such a great event and look forward to it each fall. Finding ways to give back to our community is something we are so passionate about.

Thank you to all the staff, agents and vendors that made this event such a success. We will see you next year!

Don't forget to claim your FREE Cain Keys for donating on our Loyalty and Rewards program, Cain Club. Use promo code: STOPHUNGER

2016 Travis Country Real Estate Market Stats

Travis Country Stats for 2016 The Cain TeamAside from our impressive report on real estate stats in Austin for 2016, we've got some good news about our performance in Travis Country, too! Using data collected from the MLS, we have compiled a metric measuring how well we fared in providing our excellent home buying and home selling services to our clients in this amazing community.

Here are some of the things you might want to know that truly attest to us being "the most trusted home buying and home selling team" in Travis Country!

  • The Cain Team sells for 3.36% more than the neighborhood average. This means an average of $17,687, based on the average Travis Country home sales price.
  • The Cain Team sells their clients' homes in approximately 13 days from the time of listing. That's less than half the market average.
  • The Cain Team gets their clients 5.64% more than discount brokers.
  • Compared to two other realtors servicing Travis Country, The Cain Team got their sellers over 3.89% more than their immediate competitors' averages.

We may not be the biggest team in Austin, but we hold true to our word that we are "the most trusted home buying and home selling team", and for good reason! As we gear towards growing our team this 2017 to service more clients in Travis Country, we aim to provide the same kind of excellent service to more people. If you or anybody you know needs people they can trust for their home buying or home selling needs, please do get in touch with us. And for professionals...

How to Safely Enjoy the New Year Celebrations

With New Yea'rs Eve just one night away, everybody's excited to celebrate the coming of 2017! But don't let the excitement cloud your judgment. New Year's Eve is one of a few occasions where many get hurt. To stay safe as we celebrate the New Year, here are some safety tips we have compiled for you:

1. Don't Drink & Drive - New Year's Eve is a time to party, so expect that you'll be enjoying a few "happy drinks" even if you didn't intend to because you were driving home. Instead of planning the evening out like this, don't bring your car and take a taxi. Better yet, join a carpool or ride with someone sober and have this arrangement finalized before you start drinking. We're not saying it's best to stay sober when everyone else is partying hard; you might not want to sober, but you sure want to be safe, right?

2. Check the house before leaving - aside from the rare chance of a housefire starting due to firecrackers, it's more likely for a housefire to start when appliances are left turned on or problematic electrical systems mysteriously decide to act up when you're not home. It's best to close all doors and windows before you leave to prevent firecrakers from accidentally getting into the house. Turn off the lights and appliances, too. It's best to have your home checked for fire safety annually to rid yourself of this worry. Oh, and make sure that your grill is off after cooking that pre-party BBQ with the family.

3. Bring some crackers and water before travelling - What the-- are you serious, The Cain Team? Well, if you are one of the many who needs to go on a long commute home to celebrate with the family, the traffic jams along the way can prove too much for a stomach looking forward to the family's New Year's eve dinner. Just prepare for a possible extended travel time and avoid coming home all grumpy because you are hungry and missed dinner by five hours...
